Legal Grounds is a neighborhood staple. I work at a school right down the block and stop in at least 2-3 times a week for coffee, lunch or breakfast in the morning. They are consistently delicious. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience or meal here. The team behind the counter is personable, quick and happy each time I go in. Coffee is great, but their breakfast sandwiches and bagels are NOT to be skipped!

A neighborhood institution - I'm sure you'll find legions of St. Peter's Prep devotees who have been coming for years and years. Breakfast sandwiches are the name of the game here - you can score a great taylor ham, egg, and cheese, or customized with whatever meat you want... I personally go a little extra and go for the bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese - sometimes on a roll, other times on a bagel. Lunch sandwiches are good too - pastrami is not huge but really nicely made and yummy from first bite to last. Also - the lox on a bagel (they are sourced from Wonder Bagels) is great too. It has come up a bit in price but still fair - $7.75 for a Lox on Bagel is not so unreasonable when you consider these usually cost $12-$15 in the NYC area. Should mention the coffee as well... it is a coffee shop. It's good. I don't have any particular blend to rave about, but it's solid and I enjoy it.

Very cute coffee shop! There's a scallion cream cheese option for the bagels & a $10 minimum for using credit card. Not sure if it is still the same establishment (name Legal Grounds was taken off and there's something else written) but you can't miss it!

This place is amazing. I've been meaning to check it out since I moved to JC in April, but just never got myself down that far on Grand Street while they were open. I got a really basic egg and cheese wrap with ketchup. I do this every time I go somewhere for the first time: get the most basic thing on the menu because if you can't make that well, I don't want to try your fancier stuff. Legal Grounds has a solid egg sandwich, kudos. I'll be back to try a more elaborate item later on! I also got a cappuccino while I was there and it was tasty. I appreciate good coffee drinks because I rarely get anything besides a cup of black coffee. Those days are few and far between so when I do decide to kick it up a notch, I'm grateful for baristas that know what they are doing. Keep up the good work, Legal Grounds. I'll be back!

Friendly service and good food! I ordered their decaf soy latte and it proved to be great! My friends got breakfast plate and bagels, they love their food too. You can also customize it a little, request light butter or/and oil. The price is also reasonable. Would love to come back again.

This places is flexible. With a wide variety of choices to choose from. I've been here about 3 times. I always get a bacon egg and cheese with a chocolate chip cookie. It's a must when I'm in the area. Most people take their orders to go. There are a few seats available (limited).

Good spot for a breakfast sandwich and coffee that isn't obscenely overpriced. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll and an iced coffee. Both good.
